And buying a Paradox game seems like committing to buying some DLC down the line. On the one hand, I don't like preordering games. They're also promising that there will be the Paradox standard free content patches concurrent with major expansion releases. No real way of knowing what they mean by that until they announce what their expansions may entail, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking at significant map expansions down the road to allow for things like playable Japan. Major expansions will supposedly have a much larger scope than DLC has had in Paradox games before. Small DLC will apparently be flavor stuff with narrow focuses, priced at $7. Apparently their scope is different this time around. Previous Paradox games had small content DLC for $10 and major expansions for $20. Season pass will be available after launch for $35. It seems to me provinces convert faster to your culture, if all holding within the province are hold by characters of your culture.Royal Edition Preorder: $75 (includes season pass for the first major DLC and two flavor packs)

This is very helpful if you want to convert the city to your culture (and if it's not the province's culture, yet). Now your primary holding is a city and you get to choose who gets the baronys within the province. I immediatly declare a de jure war on each of them and after winning the war you become the only holder of all baronys. We don't want that, because we want access to the financial power the city provides.Īfter winning the war/province, you grant the bishopic, the cities (and if available) and additional castle independence. Having the castle as the primary holding would make you a liege lord somehow. As a patrician you always want to hold the city not the castle.
